What is it?
Holistic Health Review
We will discuss various aspects of your health and wellness, looking at what you eat and when, stress, sleep, circadian health, digestive system health, fungus & parasites and detoxification. This review is in the form of a series of questions, and you will be scored based on your answers to see which areas you need to work on improving, and how to go about improving those areas.
Spinal Alignment Assessment
With the use of an inclinometer (a small measuring device) we will measure the angles of your thoracic vertebrae (C7/T1) (upper spine), mid spine (T12/L1) and lumbar vertebrae (L5/S1) (lower spine), which will allow us to calculate your kyphosis and lordosis spinal curvatures to see if you have any mis-alignment, such as excessive kyphosis, excessive lordosis, flat back, or anything else we find, which could be causing posture distortions and possible aches & pains now or in the future.
Static Plumb Line Test
Using a static plumb line, which gives the Personal Trainer a vertical line of assessment in relation to your body position, where you'll be standing in an anterior (facing forward), posterior (facing backwards) and bi-lateral (facing left/right) standing position, we will be looking at various points of your body to identify various muscular imbalances and dysfunctions which will be affecting your posture and physical performance.
Overhead Squat Analysis
With footwear off, you will be asked to perform 10-15 repetitions, at your own steady pace, of an overhead squat. This is a squat with your arms raised straight above your head, as low as you comfortable feel you can go. This exercise allows us to idenfify any muscular imbalances and dysfunctions that you should be addressing first before engaging in bigger more compound exercises in the gym, and which would also be affecting your posture, or in some cases which may already be causing you tightness, aches and pains.
Conclusion & Recommendations
Once your Holistic Health Review is complete, the Personal Trainer will then make some recommendations for you to improve some of the primary things highlighted during your assessments.
